Workshops Application

Registration has been started from September 23, 2022.

Important notes:

1. FUSAFES FULL PASS or WORKSHOP PASS purchaser is requested to show his/her ID with photo at each WS.
2. The registered lessons are only for the applicants. They are not subject to transfer. If you violate the rule, you will lose the right to participate in the workshop lessons.
3. Once the registration is finished, selected lessons are basically non-changeable. In the unavoidable case, please contact us by email at eventos@tiempo.jp.
4. The following cancellation fee will be charged for cancellation after registering for the workshop.

    [to October 25th, 2022]   3,000 yen of handling charge
    [October 26th to November 15th, 2022]  3,000 yen of handling charge + 10% of the total amount of registered classes or WORKSHOP PASS fee.
    [After November 16th, 2022]   100% of the total amount of registered classes or WORKSHOP PASS fee.
** If the organizer decides to cancel the festival due to the spread of Covid-19, you will receive a refund.

Boot Camp Workshop by Mayuka

“Heels Bachata Shine” (Total 4 hours)

Those who have completed the boot camp WS can participate in a performance with instructor Mayuka at the FUSAFES Dance Party on Sunday, November 27th.
Performance rehearsals will be held before the party starts.
* Persons participating in the performance must purchase a party admission ticket.
* All levels are eligible for both men and women.

Mayuka Tamura

She learned various genres of dance from an early age, and won the Hokkaido Latin Dance Competition when she was 16 years old.
She spent two seasons as a professional basketball cheerleader in Hokkaido, and in 2016, she was selected as the only Asian finalist out of about 400 people at the NBA Miami Heat Dancer Audition.
She will also be selected as a finalist for the NBA She LA Clipper Dancers in 2019.
She started dancing Heels in America 5 years ago and took lessons from many famous instructors.
She has been fascinated by Latin dance for the past 4 years, and she is currently based in Sapporo giving Latin dance and Heels lessons.
At Japan Cup 2018 (Latin Dance Tournament), she won 2 solo categories and was runner-up in 1 category.

Percussion Workshop by Taro, Kouta

Bata-Drum used in ceremonies of Cuban Afro Santeria.
Among the many rhythms, we will take up the basic and often used yakota and yesa.
You can experience three ensembles and songs, and the clave that connects them.

② “Rumba”   (60min)

Cuban street music, rumba.
We will take up Wawanko, the most popular rumba.  
We would like you to understand and experience the elaborate ensembles such as clave and conga.

Taro

Taro Kishioka
Latin percussionist.
He encountered Afro-Brazilian culture in Salvador, Brazil and worked as an accompaniment and dancer for Afro dance classes such as Pandeiro and Surdo.
In Havana, Cuba, he was inspired by Afro-Cuban culture and became an omoanha (bata player) performing at Santería ceremonies.
He experienced Cuban and Mexican ceremonies and interacted with the Afro-Cuban scene, which spreads all over the world.
He has toured and recorded with bands in Japan and abroad, including Cuba and Japan. He is also developing polyrhythmic training for sports. kawo cabiosile Chango.

Kouta

Hirota Seki
2006 Graduated from Showa University of Music, Department of Percussion Instruments.
He studied under Shoko Shintani.
He has performed at religious ceremonies, outdoor parties, weddings and naming ceremonies throughout Cuba, Mexico and Senegal.
In Senegal, he performed with the late Sabar player Dudu Njayi Rose.
In 2015 he won the 3 bata category at the fiesta del tambor in Cuba.
2016 Recording with local musicians in Cuba. 2 works on sale.
2021 Leader band ACJP's 1st mini-album "La Luz" will be released.
He is teaching an Afro-Cuban drum class in Tokyo.
